With the holiday season finally winding down and another year in the books, Chic Models is super excited about 2022. And to kick off this New Year right, we would love to introduce you to our January Model of the Month. The stunning Jessica Minter grew up in Fresno, CA and now lives in beautiful downtown Long Beach. Jessica has been in the industry for 11 years, and funny enough, she started modeling because people had commented on how tall she was for much of her life. People kept saying, “Oh, you should try modeling, you’d probably be great at it!” So, at 19, after a couple years of college and some time working for a pizza company in Fresno, she decided to up and quit. She moved to Los Angeles with $350 to her name and immediately began shooting with photographers to build her book. She quickly signed with a small agency and booked a Starbucks Ad in China. After just one month into her move she was able to get her first place in Eagle Rock. She’ll never forget how amazing it felt to wander around her first two story Target, buying things for her new home.
Since then, Jessica has worked for many brands. She recently did a commercial for Don Julio in Malibu. Jessica has worked for Anastasia Beverly Hills, ColourPop Cosmetics, Kay Jewelers, Dixie Official, EM Cosmetics, Juicy Couture, Stella Rosa Wines, David’s Bridal, and many more. She has done music videos with Sublime, Rome, Big Sean and Sza. And at one point, early in her career, she was an on-air waitress for the show “The Taste” (cooking show).
Her goal as a model is to always be working, creating, and evolving positively with the industry. Jessica loves seeing the influx of inclusivity and acceptance of all different sizes and ethnicities recently. She also has loved seeing the increase in brands going eco-friendly with their items. She truly loves modeling. It is a different job almost every day, full of talented and creative crews that she has been fortunate enough to work with. She hopes to keep modeling for a long time to come, along with doing her plant maintenance/landscaping business and going to school for her degrees in Anthropology and Psychology. Brains and beauty, it’s a perfect combination.
