Chic Models would love for you to get to know our May, Model of the Month. The beautiful Kayleigh Gilbert was born in the small town of Ermelo, South Africa and moved to Johannesburg with her large family at the age of 7. Kayleigh is the youngest of 8 kids and has always been an animal lover. This was easy for her, being raised on her family ranch with over 60 horses, dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, and parrots. What fun way to grow up.
Kayleigh started modeling at the age of 16. Her brother’s girlfriend was a top model in South Africa and thought she would do well in the industry. She introduced her to a few agencies and the rest as we say is history. Kayleigh modeled in South Africa for a few years before taking the leap at the age of 19 and moving to California. She has called West Hollywood her home away from home for the past 8 years.
One of Kayleigh’s first jobs, when she moved here, was for Stella Maxwell. She has worked with Brandy Melville, Mystic Inc, Loyd and Ford, and Great Lengths to name a few. She has walked in shows for Oscar de la Renta, Max Mara, Versace, Prada, and Wildfox. As an actress, she has been in 3 feature films and shot commercials for Cheezits, Kay Jewelers, Supercuts, and more.
Kayleigh truly believes in sustainability and ethics, and would love to work closely with brands that prioritize this in their products. She believes the fashion industry can be very successful and thrive whilst still taking the environment and the protection of animals into consideration.
